RBC bank advised that they were processing during this period SAF records belonging to ATB and Tangerine Banks resulted from the incident occurred on November 13-14th. The processing of the SAF caused an intermittent Timeouts. The bank has completed the adjustment of the SAF and no longer timeouts were reported as of 10:36 AM EST. This issue will remain open with Global Payments until RBC confirms that the issue has been mitigated and impact is no longer being observed. This issue is external to Global Payments.

Update 3: Timeouts have been mitigated as of 09:41 EST. RBC bank has provided an update stating that their vendor is currently troubleshooting as they have potentially identified the issue. No estimated time of resolution has been provided. The Support team is monitoring for stability. Intermittent timeouts may reoccur. This issue is external to Global Payments.

Update 2: RBC Bank’s carrier completed a change at 03:08 AM EST, however the intermittent timeouts with RBC debit cards and their mobile transactions started at 07:00 AM EST and are still ongoing. The bank is investigating the issue with the carrier and has not provided an ETR when it will be resolved. Failed transactions may be approved upon retry. In addition, GPC has been notified by Interac that Tangerine and ATB banks are also experiencing a degradation of service impacting their mobile transactions, which appears to be related to the ongoing incident with RBC.

Update 1: As of 15:40 EST, no additional timeouts were observed but further intermittent timeouts may occur on RBC debit cards and their MobilePay service. As per RBC it’s an ongoing network issue with their downstream, causing the intermittent timeouts. RBC is still working to mitigate the issue but has not provided an ETA when it will be resolved. Failed transactions might be approved if retried. This issue is external to Global Payments
